She received her B.E. in Integrated Circuit Design and Integration System and M.E. degree in Microelectronics and Solid Electronics from Xidian University, China, in 2016 and 2019. she received her Ph.D. degree in Electronic and Computer Engineering from The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Hong Kong, in 2025.

Yuanbin Liu

He received his B.E. in Optoelectronic Information from University of Electronic Science and Technology, China, in 2018. He studied in the Department of Electronic and Computer Engineering, The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, as an exchange Ph.D. student from Prof. Linjie Zhou's group in Shanghai Jiao Tong University, in 2023-2024.

Bo Xue Tan

PhD thesis: "AlGaAs-on-insulator Integrated Photonic Platform for Nonlinear and Quantum Light Sources"

He received his B.Sc. (with Hons.) degree in Physics from National University of Singapore (NUS) in 2016. He received his Ph.D. degree in Electronic and Computer Engineering from The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Hong Kong, in 2023. He is now working as an RD engineer in Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company, Hsinchu, Taiwan.

jiayang Li

He received his B.E. degree in Optoelectronic Science and Technology from Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Wuhan, China, in 2018. He received his Ph.D. degree in Electronic and Computer Engineering from The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Hong Kong, in 2023. He is now working in Huawei, Shenzhen, China.

Kaiyi Wu

PhD thesis: "High-Quality-Factor Si3N4 Microresonators towards Integrated Nonlinear and Quantum Light Sources"

She received her B.S. degree in Optical Information Science and Technology from Sun Yat-sen University, Guangzhou, China, in 2015. She received her Ph.D. degree in Electronic and Computer Engineering from The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Hong Kong, in 2021. She is now working as a postdoctoral researcher in Purdue University.

Zhanshi Yao

He received his B.S. degree in Optical Information Science and Technology from Sun Yat-sen University, Guangzhou, China, in 2013. He received his Ph.D. degree in Electronic and Computer Engineering from The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Hong Kong, in 2019. He is now working in Huawei, Shenzhen, China.

Jiawei Wang

PhD thesis: "Silicon-based Integrated Optofluidic Biosensors Using Coupled-Resonator Optical Waveguides"

He received his B.S. degree in Optical Information Science and Technology from Sun Yat-sen University, Guangzhou, China, in 2011. He received his Ph.D. degree in Electronic and Computer Engineering from The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Hong Kong, in 2016. He is now working as an associate professor in the School of Electronics and Information Engineering, the Harbin Institute of Technology (Shenzhen), China.

Yu Li

PhD thesis: "Actively Stabilized Microring Switches Using Silicon Defect-state Photodetectors for Optical Interconnects"

She received her B.S. degree in Optoelectronic Science and Technology from Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Wuhan, China, in 2011. She received her Ph.D. degree in Electronic and Computer Engineering from The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Hong Kong, in 2016. She is now a scientist in the Institute of Microelectronics, A*STAR, Singapore.

Yu Zhang

PhD thesis: "Towards Direct-modulated Hybrid Silicon Photonic Transmitters for Intra-datacenter Optical Interconnects"

He received his B.S. degree in Optoelectronic Science and Technology from Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Wuhan, China, in 2010. He received his Ph.D. degree in Electronic and Computer Engineering from The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Hong Kong, in 2016. He is now a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, The University of California, Davis, USA.

Lei Zhang

He received his B. S. degree in applied physics from Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, Beijing, China, in 2006, and the Ph. D. degree in microelectronics and solid-state electronics from Institute of Semiconductors, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing, China, in 2011. He worked in the Department of Electronic and Computer Engineering, The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, as a Post-doctoral Fellow through Hong Kong Scholars Program in 2014-2015. He is now an associate professor at Institute of Semiconductors, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing, China.

Yue-De Yang

He received his B. S. degree in physics from Peking University, Beijing, China, in 2004, and the Ph. D. degree in physical electronics from Institute of Semiconductors, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing, China, in 2009. He worked in the Department of Electronic and Computer Engineering, The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, as a Post-doctoral Fellow through Hong Kong Scholars Program in 2011-2013. He is now an associate professor at Institute of Semiconductors, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing, China.

Shaoqi Feng

He received his B. E. degree of Optoelectronics from Nankai University, Tianjin, China, in 2008. He received his Ph. D. degree in electronics and computer engineering from The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Hong Kong, in 2013. He is now a postdoctoral researcher in Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of California, Davis.

Ting Lei

She received his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Optics from Nankai University, Tianjin, China, in 2006 and 2009, respectively. He received his Ph. D. degree in electronics and computer engineering from The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Hong Kong, in 2013. He is now a lecturer in College of Optoelectronics Engineering, Shenzhen University, China.

Hong Cai

PhD thesis: "Optical Manipulation of Microparticles Using Integrated Microphotonic Devices on an Optofluidic Chip"

She received her B. E. degree of Optoelectronic from South China Normal University, Guangzhou, Guangdong, China, in 2005 and her M.S. degree of Optical Engineering, in Shanghai Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics, Chinese Academy of Science, Shanghai, China, in 2008. She received her Ph. D. degree in the electronic and computer engineering from The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Hong Kong in 2012. She was a postdoctoral researcher in Jack Baskin School of Engineering, University of California, Santa Cruz. She is now working in KLA-Tencor.

Aimé Sayarath

MPhil thesis: "Silicon Microring Resonator-Based Devices for Wavelength-Division-Multiplexing Optical Communications"

He received his Bachelor Degree from Telecom Sudparis, Paris, France, in 2009. He has been studying for the MS in Communication Networks and Services in Telecom Sudparis from 2009 to 2010. Under a dual degree program, he received his MPhil degree in the Department of Electronic and Computer Engineering from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Hong Kong in 2011. He is now working in Paris.

D. degree in electrical and electronic engineering from The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Hong Kong, in 2003 and 2010, respectively. He is now a lecturer in School of Physics and Engineering, Sun Yat-Sen University, China.

Linjie Zhou

He received his B.S. degree in microelectronics from Peking University, Beijing, China, in 2003. He received his Ph. D. degree in electrical and electronic engineering from The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Hong Kong, in 2007. He was a post-doc researcher in University of California at Davis. He is now a professor at the EE Department in Shanghai Jiao Tong University, China.

Chao Li

Kam Yan Hon

Yi Ho Lee

Kin Man Tsia

MPhil thesis: "Optical Resonances in Photonic-Crystal-Embedded Microcavities"

He received his B.E. degree in electronic engineering (Information and Communication Engineering) and M.Phil. degree in electrical and electronic engineering from The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Hong Kong, in 2003 and 2005, respectively. He recieved his PhD degree from UCLA in 2009, and awarded the 2009 Harry M. Showman Prize at UCLA. Dr. Tsia is now an associate professor at the EEE Department of the University of Hong Kong.

MPhil thesis: "Prism-Coupled Square Optical Micropillar Resonator-Based Filters for Optical Communications"

He received his B.E. degree in electronic engineering (Information and Communication Engineering) and M.Phil. degree in electrical and electronic engineering from The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Hong Kong, in 2002 and 2004, respectively. He is now working in SAE Magnetics, Hong Kong.

His Final Year Thesis is about Integrated microlasers using dye-doped polymer by laser lithography. He will be studying for the Ph. D. degree at the University of Rochester, New York, USA.

He received his B. E. degree in electronic engineering from The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Hong Kong, in 2012. His Final Year Thesis is about Surface Plasmon Resonance Based Optical Manipulation Utilizing Fractal Patterns. He is studying for the Ph.
